How Did You Start Streaming

My streaming journey started in 2021. At the time, I was experiencing extreme burnout from my day job, and feeling creatively dissatisfied and directionless in my life—further exacerbated by the chaos and stress of the pandemic. I was just feeling very bleh about everything.

I had already been active on Twitch at that point, but only ever as a viewer. My roommate convinced me to give streaming a try, despite my initial reluctance and belief that I wouldn't be engaging enough. But I was eager for any kind of change—so I downloaded the stream software, set up some working scenes, and eventually worked up the nerve to hit the "Go Live" button on May 17, 2021.

My first stream was a short and punchy 40 minutes, but I was surprised by how fun it was. After that, I would inconsistently stream in the evenings after work. It took many months—and lots of encouraging pep talks from my roommate (bless his heart)—until I gradually found my rhythm. In that process, I grew to really love streaming and the community that I was building. For the first time in a long time, I felt so creatively happy and excited.

In 2023, I took a leap of faith and left my day job to pursue streaming and content creation full-time. While it was shaky at first, as all huge decisions can be, the incredible and unwavering support from my community kept me motivated. On October 3, 2024, we reached a major milestone when I was officially invited to join the Twitch Partner Program! Yippee!

After all this time, I can genuinely say that this journey has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I don't take any of this for granted—all the support, the community, the ups, and even the downs. I am so incredibly thankful for every part of this experience. Thank you for being here!

Why "Human1"

It was a silly name that stuck and I love it.

I joined my first Jackbox game back in 2019 and was prompted to type in a screen name. Thinking on the spot, the most generic name that I could think of was simply "Human". To make it even more generic, I added the number 1. Hence, Human1!
Over time, the nicknames have evolved and now I also go by Hooman or H1.

Wait.. Are You "That" Human1

Yes, I'm OneTopic's roommate.

Yes, my Twitch moderators are happy and content!

Are You Maidenless

NO I'M NOT.
My community will say otherwise but do not believe them!
